Tidyboy-OPL, the team led by Pusan National University Professor Seungjoon Lee, Chief Robotics Scientist at Tommoro Robotics, won the Open Platform League at RoboCup@Home 2025.
The team scored 6,065 points, finishing well ahead of the competition. Its total exceeded the combined scores of the second-, third-, and fourth-place teams.
A key factor in the victory was the team’s performance in the Enhanced General Purpose Service Robot (EGPSR) task, one of the competition’s most demanding challenges. Tidyboy-OPL earned 1,865 points, the highest score among participating teams.
EGPSR is a comprehensive robotics benchmark in which a robot must navigate multiple indoor spaces, identify and tidy up waste or misplaced objects, and respond to arbitrary user requests in natural language. Instructions are given during the evaluation, testing real-time reasoning, generalization, and interaction capabilities.
Professor Lee’s robot navigated complex indoor environments reliably, identified and removed dirty objects without human intervention, and responded flexibly to spoken requests to fetch objects, tidy up, and provide assistance. Consistent perception and planning throughout the task secured the highest EGPSR score and the overall championship.
The result demonstrates Professor Lee’s expertise in autonomous service-robot intelligence and natural-language robot control, closely aligning with Tommoro Robotics’ research into VLA-based robot foundation models.
