Byoung-Tak Zhang, CEO of Tommoro Robotics, delivered a keynote at the inaugural Humanoid TechCon, held on February 6 at The Westin Seoul Parnas, outlining technical directions for humanoid commercialization.
Zhang described “AI that acts” as the core of humanoid robotics and discussed the need for a shared Korean robot foundation model and the challenges involved in building one. Beyond technical advances alone, he emphasized an education-based approach that enables goal-directed learning and adaptation to the environment. He also highlighted practical constraints in Physical AI, including real-time operation, limited data, and generalization, and called for a staged learning strategy combining simulation, human guidance, synthetic data, and real-world interaction.
Tommoro Robotics will continue to advance the core technologies and platforms needed for humanoid commercialization, working toward physical intelligence that continuously learns and expands its capabilities in industrial environments.
