Tommoro Robotics signed a memorandum of understanding with ROBOTIS on July 7 to jointly commercialize Physical AI humanoid robots for practical work.
The agreement goes beyond a technical partnership. The companies aim to jointly develop a robot platform capable of generating commercial revenue and build a robotics-as-a-service ecosystem for a range of industries.
ROBOTIS will develop precision, efficient robot hardware and mobility systems using its DYNAMIXEL actuator and DYD reducer technologies, and handle ROS-based system integration. Tommoro Robotics will develop control software incorporating speech and vision recognition and natural-language processing, along with applications built around service scenarios. The goal is to make robots capable collaborators in real working environments.
The collaboration is part of ROBOTIS’ expansion strategy for its Physical AI humanoid AI Worker. The platform is undergoing trials in logistics and manufacturing automation, irregular-object handling, and imitation- and reinforcement-learning applications. Five units have been delivered to Tommoro Robotics. As the B2B robot business develops, ROBOTIS is also building revenue streams around modular components, maintenance services, and real-world robot data. The companies will strengthen the technical foundation for international expansion and investment, with the longer-term goal of establishing a commercialization model for the Physical AI-based AI Worker platform.
